Marvel Rivals reveals Marvel Zombies PvE Horde Mode

by Matthew O’Dwyer

NetEase Games has revealed that Marvel Rivals will be collaborating with the television show Marvel Zombies to bring a new PvE mode to the popular hero shooter. While many characters from Marvel Zombies are also present in Marvel Rivals, some major heroes, like Ms. Marvel and Red Guardian, have not yet appeared in the game.

Marvel Rivals Zombie Mode Scarlet Witch

Marvel Rivals is currently in the middle of Season 4, which has brought new heroes like Angela and Daredevil to the title. When detailing what players can expect to see in the future, NetEase Games announced that it will be adding cross-progression to the hero shooter during Season 5. Many fans have expressed excitement about the addition, as it's a feature the community has been asking for since Marvel Rivals' launch in December 2024. Cross-progression will allow players to move between platforms seamlessly without losing access to cosmetics they've purchased or rewards they've earned.

Marvel Rivals Is Getting a Zombie Game Mode

In a recent post on YouTube, NetEase Games revealed that it will be releasing a new Marvel Rivals game mode as part of a collaboration with the Marvel Zombies television show on Disney+. The new zombie game mode will give players the opportunity to face off against endless waves of zombies. Gamers will even be tasked with taking down bosses from the show, like Zombie Namor and The Queen of the Dead. While the trailer does reveal that players will gain access to the new mode on October 23, it doesn't mention if or when it will end.

The developers also revealed that players won't be able to bring every hero into the fight against the zombie horde. Instead, gamers will need to choose between Magik, Jeff the Land Shark, Blade, The Punisher, and Thor in Marvel Rivals. Each hero will also be given a unique ability, making them even more fearsome on the battlefield as they fend off endless waves of zombies. Players can choose between five heroes, but only teams of four people will be able to participate in the mode.
