We all know base housing comes with pros and cons. Toxic paint and mold problems? Con. Great pet policy? Pro. Weirdly sized kitchen? Con. Proximity to the commissary? Pro. Proximity to the flight line? Pro/con.

But the good people at the Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, MWR office have really leveled up the housing area this time. Maybe it's just a good idea. Maybe it's more of that fancy Air Force life stuff. No matter how you characterize it, it's brilliant.

The sun should be back out tomorrow and so will the The Dizzy Duck! The menu for this weekend features The Fuzzy Duck and The Waddle for the ducklings 🥤🌊🍍 We can't wait to meet you at your stop!

The Dizzy Duck, a beverage cart with treats for all ages, rolls through base housing on Friday and Saturday evenings serving alcohol for two hours. Yes, you read that right. A base-contracted booze truck drives through the housing area selling drinks two nights each week.

And unlike the ice cream truck you had to sprint after as a kid, this one is probably a little easier to catch. The cart is a giant inflatable duck bungee-corded to the top of a green golf cart. Amazing.

The menu is perfect for happy hour, with $4 mixed drinks, $3-$4 for beer and a $1 mocktail for "The Ducklings." A bag of chips and a peanut butter cookie are also available.

Deployments sound a little bit easier with this amenity on hand. These military families are living the dream for us. If anyone knows how to get The Dizzy Duck available at all installations, please let us know. We are here for this.
