Marine Found Dead with Gunshot Wound at California Base

SAN DIEGO -- Military authorities are investigating the death of a Marine found with a gunshot wound to the head inside the armory at Southern California's Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

Officials say Lance Cpl. David M. Gonzalez, a small arms repair technician, was found dead Monday.

Investigators say no foul play is suspected but have offered no additional details.

The 20-year-old from Yucaipa was assigned to the Tactical Air Command Squadron at Miramar. He joined the Corps in 2016.
