Coalition Service Member Supporting ISIS Fight Dies in Southwest Asia

A coalition servicemember supporting the anti-Islamic State campaign died at an unnamed location in southwest Asia, the military said Wednesday.

The servicemember died "in what appears to be a noncombat-related incident," Lt. Col. Paul Greenberg, Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman, said in a statement

The death is under investigation.

The servicemember's name, nationality and the circumstances of the death were withheld.

The latest death brings the number of noncombat fatalities this year in Operation Inherent Resolve to 14, according to the website iCasualties.org. At least 12 of those were Americans.
