US Army Vet Joins Kurds in Fight Against ISIS
A US citizen, Jordan Matson, has joined the YPG ranks in order to fight against ISIS gangs, receiving the code-name "Serdar". Matson spoke to Ronaha Tv and said, "I preferred to do something rather than nothing". JORDAN MATSON AN AMERICAN CITIZEN JOINED YPG TO FIGHT AGAINST ISIS "I PREFERRED TO DO SOMETHING RATHER THAN NOTHING". Jordan explains how he met the Kurdish people. Matson says he had informed himself about the struggle of the YPG against the ISIS gangs through the internet in recent times, although he already had information about the Kurdish people and says he decided to join the YPG as he preferred to do something rather than nothing. Matson says the YPG is a bigger organisation than he previously thought it to be and adds that he is happy that he has gained acceptance so quickly in the YPG. He says that he observes the border with ISIS with his unit, and did not had any difficulties regarding the conditions in the YPG, except the language barrier for the moment. Matson says that he took part in a clash with ISIS gangs soon after he joined the YPG, saying that the gangs were repelled at the end of a 6-hour clash, despite the heavy weapons the gangs had.
