Everyone knows airstrikes take careful calculation. But very few people truly understand what goes into planning and executing an airstrike or the level of precision that is required to make them successful.

These operations are generally carried out by military aircraft such as bombers and strike fighters. But they also can include other types of aircraft such as helicopters, transport planes and drones. By using precision-guided munitions (PGMs), airstrikes can be directed with incredible accuracy, hitting the target with little to no collateral damage.
