Daesh Loses A LOT of Gas Money
19 FEB 2016 - A coalition airstrike destroys a Daesh gas and oil separation plant near Dayr Az Zawr, Syria to disrupt terrorist oil operations. Since September 2014, the Coalition has conducted 230 airstrikes against Daesh’s illicit oil operations. Airstrikes targeted most elements of the oil enterprise, from collection, to storage, to transportation, reducing overall Daesh revenue by 30%. The strikes were conducted as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the operation to eliminate the Daesh terrorist group and the threat they pose to Iraq, Syria, and the wider international community. The destruction of Daesh targets in Syria and Iraq further limits the group's ability to project terror and conduct operations.
