MRAPS Undergo Blast Tests at Air Force Base

Share

A controlled detonation beneath a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected, or MRAP, vehicle took place recently at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s explosive test facility, Sky 10 range, at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. AFCEC’S EOD modernization team was key to executing the blast to test the safety and durability of modifications made to the MRAP to accommodate the Recovery of Airbases Denied By Ordnance, or RADBO, system. RADBO is a state-of-the-art laser system used to clear runways and airfields of unexploded explosive ordnance. (U.S. Air Force video)
