Share

Ann E. Dunwoody joined the Women’s Army Corps in 1975 and would become a true trailblazer of the U.S. Army. She was part of the integration of women into the Army, attended jumpmaster school, and would go on to be a commander in the 82nd Airborne Division. Then, on November 14, 2008, she became the first woman in U.S. Army history to be promoted to four-star general. (American Veterans Center)
