More On Physical Fitness Test - PFT Prep

The Army has fielded thousands of hex bars for the more challenging fitness test that will replace the current APFT.

Lawmakers in the Senate are proposing a new hurdle in the Army's race to replace its outdated physical fitness test.

Rather than delay implementation of the new fitness evaluation, the Army will replace the APFT on Oct. 1 with the ACFT 2.0

An alternative exercise is just one of the changes Army officials are making to ACFT plans.

Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston said ACFT events can be performed while COVID-19 protocols are still in effect.

The Air Force will not resume physical fitness testing until October, the service announced.

Officials are currently reviewing "a few different options for the way-ahead on PT testing."

Marines who haven't taken their physical fitness test yet this season will be able to skip it.

Unlike the Navy, which waived testing, airmen's tests will merely be delayed by six months.

"The test should not be the only relevant element of readiness, but it cannot just be decoupled without major ramifications."
