If you've ever watched a home makeover show, you've probably spent some time fantasizing about what you would do if the person getting the home help was you. And now, thanks to a home makeover company focused on the military, you just might.

Moving WIth the Military, owned by Army spouse Maria Reed, is looking to give 10 military families a holiday makeover surprise and piles of holiday gifts and decor from their wish lists, with one grand prize winner also featured on national TV.

The winners will be selected from nominations submitted through Sunday, Nov. 1. Families can nominate themselves or another active duty, active Guard or active Reserve individual of family. You'll need to include in the nomination details on any upcoming PCS moves slated for within the next six months, the ages of kids in the family and where the family lives. You'll also need to submit a photo and a reason why you're making the nomination, why the makeover is needed and what the surprise would mean.

The winners will be selected by a review panel, with those receiving makeovers revealed in early December, Reed said.

A global pandemic is a hard time to organize travel and home makeovers in locations around the world, so Reed said they'll be leaning on military spouse "elves" in each location and sponsorship from Caliber Home Loans.

"Elves will help in each location with the logistics, buying, DIYing and decorating," she said.

And even the people ultimately helping with the makeovers are getting in on the contest.

After they are completed, each decorated area will be submitted for an interactive vote and the designer of the area with the most likes will receive a $250 gift card for themselves with a matching donation to a military charity of their choice.

"This is all about building community and honoring those serve and their families. The holidays can be tough on military families with deployments, trainings, separations from loved ones and let's add a global pandemic on top," Reed said. "This holiday day surprise at your door is about spreading kindness and good will. Be the good in the world."
