Salomon has finally figured out that burnt orange is not the preferred color for the tacticool crowd. In addition to the original fugly-orange color, the Quest 4D GTX come in gray, black, brown and now olive green. Eric Graves over at Soldier Systems Daily spotted the new color on a visit to REI.
I mention the new color mainly because the Quest 4D are my favorite boots. I bought a pair in gray a couple of years ago and they've held up great. They are extremely comfortable, breathe well for Gore-Tex and offer great ankle support. Now if you are looking for a boot with high arch support, don't buy the Quest 4Ds. I am close to flat-footed, so they work well for dogs like mine.
