I'll be at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pa. today attending the 21st annual strategy conference so blogging will be a little light. The conference organizers have put together some top notch panels this year, including strategists Martin Van Creveld, Conrad Crane, Frank Hoffman, Andrew Bacevich, Michael Vlahos and many more. I'll provide a write up when I get back.
Regrettably, I wasn't able to attend the Gettysburg staff ride yesterday, which I bet was excellent. I visit Gettysburg at least once a year and since I just finished Edwin Coddington's "The Gettysburg Campaign: A Study in Command," I'm really looking forward to getting up there again soon and try and figure out how on earth Lee thought he could take Cemetery Ridge from a Union force equal in numbers to his own.
