The Army has announced that a soldier with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) died Wednesday during training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
The accident occurred about 2 p.m. while the soldier's unit was conducting "routine training," according to a press release from the 101st Airborne.
The soldier's name will not be released until "24 hours after next-of-kin notification is complete," the release states. The accident remains under investigation.
The soldier was evacuated to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital on Fort Campbell, where he was pronounced dead, the release states.
No other soldiers were injured in the accident, according to the release.
