Fort Myer is home to the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" and Headquarters U.S. Army Garrison.

The garrison command includes Fort Myer, which is located in Arlington, VA and Fort Lesley J. McNair, which is located in Washington, D.C.

On October 1, 2009, Henderson Hall Marine Corps installation management functions joined Fort Myer which is now known as Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall.
