Her awards include the Association of Health Care Journalists’ top prize for excellence in health care journalism in 2020, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation Honorable Mention for National Defense Reporting for 2022, and the Joe Galloway Award from Military Reporters & Editors Inc. in 2023.
A former intelligence community analyst, she holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Virginia.
