Beau Biden, who served in the Guard, is buried at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church cemetery in Greenville, Delaware.

Arrangements are being made for 15,000 of the 25,600 Guard soldiers and airmen in D.C. to return home over the next 10 days.

The scene at the U.S. Capitol, where Joe Biden took the oath of office, was a stark contrast to the riot on Jan. 6.

Some Guard members have been sworn in as special police and authorized to be armed with M4 carbines.

The announcement comes as the Guard presence in D.C. has swelled to 25,000 members, contributed by all 50 states.
