The Navy plans to move its Eglin based F-35 Lightning aircraft to California.

F-22 training units will relocate while the base undergoes years of repairs.

The U.S. Air Force is weighing the addition of another F-35 Joint Strike Fighter squadron at Eglin Air Force Base.

The 96th Medical Group held a ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Air Force's first Invisible Wounds Center.

While one F-35A stealth fighter at Eglin was experiencing a nose gear malfunction, another F-35 experienced a bird strike.

One pilot was on board the F-35, but did not sustain any injuries as a result of the mishaps, the Air force said.

The 33rd Fighter Wing hopes it will receive additional F-35As, along with considerable upgrades to its existing fleet.
