Navy Exchange Service Command on April 9 announced the merger of the NEX Guam and NEX Japan Districts. The merger will become effective on July 1, 2019, and will result in a new “Far East District” headquartered in Yokosuka, Japan. The intent of the merger is to consolidate similar geographic markets and improve the customer experience. The new Far East District will include NEX locations at Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan; NEX Negishi Heights, Japan; Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan; NEX Sanno Hotel, Japan; Fleet Activities Sasebo, Japan; NEX Hario, Japan; NEX Singapore; NEX Hong Kong; Naval Station Guam; Naval Communications and Telecommunications Station Guam; and Naval Hospital Guam.
