Birch Aquarium, which offers active duty military, Reserves and veterans $2 off each admission ticket, is the exploration center for the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean and features more than 60 habitats of fishes and invertebrates.
The Del Mar Racetrack is in the city of Del Mar, 20 miles north of downtown San Diego. Head over to Del Mar Wednesday through Sunday for fun horse racing, a tradition that dates back to 1937. Active duty military personnel and their dependents are admitted to Stretch Run for free.
Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa is a beautiful Spanish-style resort minutes from many hot spots in San Diego. The resort offers a 20% discount to all active and retired members of the armed forces year-round.
Hard Rock Cafes are known to be big supporters of the military. Head on over to the San Diego restaurant to use their military discount.

LEGOLAND California Resort, located 30 minutes north of San Diego and one hour south of Anaheim, offers military discounts on tickets. As an interactive, hands-on theme park, it features more than 60 rides, shows and attractions. It’s perfect for families with children ages 2 to 12.
Learn about aviation history at the San Diego Air and Space Museum. See aircraft, artifacts and exhibits like "American Women of Flight." Have kids? The museum also has a Kid's Aviation Action Hangar for children of all ages. Active duty service members get free admission to the museum, and retired service members get $3 off admission.
The 2017 San Diego County Fair, which featured rides, games, food, animals and more, ran from June 2 through July 4. Military discount tickets were available for purchase on base and not available at the Fair admission gate. On Opening Day, June 2, they had a Military Free Day. The San Diego Zoo, located just north of downtown San Diego in Balboa Park, offers a free 1-Day Pass for active duty military. Military spouses and eligible dependents receive a 10% discount. The 100-acre zoo houses over 3,700 rare and endangered animals and has a botanical collection with more than 700,000 exotic plants.
The SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment salutes those who serve with free admission through their "Waves of Honor" program. Sea World is filled with amazing animals, shows, rides and exhibits. They even have a kennel service.

The USS Midway Museum offers retired military a discount off admission. Admission to the museum includes a self-guided audio tour to 60 exhibits throughout the historic aircraft carrier and 29 restored aircraft. There are also family activities for all ages, including flight simulators, music videos, short films, climb-aboard aircraft and cockpits, interactive exhibits and "Ejection Seat Theater."
