The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is reaching out to its 43 Sections this month as part of a renewed push to connect veterans and transitioning servicemembers to jobs in the water sector. The idea is to build a network of volunteers who will help smooth the way for military members to fill some of the thousands of water sector vacancies created by Baby Boomer retirements. A new toolkit will include resources for veterans that explain the training needed to work in the water sector and how to connect with education programs and utilities.
