A team from Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic is working on a hands-free system to protect military members from unintentionally revealing their location through radio frequency waves. The prototype, known as the Spectrum Hunter, uses augmented reality and a headset inside troops' helmets to help them “see” the radio frequency waves they may be emitting while using other equipment. The system will help military members identify which of their equipment may not be deactivated properly during radio silence to keep the enemy from finding them. Read more at Navy.mil.
