A law firm is holding an essay contest with prizes up to $1,000 for selected winners. Edwards & Patterson Law invites participants to submit an essay about a veteran whose service, sacrifice and patriotism have inspired them; that veteran is then eligible to receive a grant of $1,000 for the first-place winner, and $500 for the second-place winner. Anyone can submit an essay about a veteran who inspires them; the nominee must be a veteran of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard. Veterans can even nominate themselves. Essays must be at least 600 words and explain why the veteran deserves a cash grant. The essay should describe the veteran's service and career highlights, and how the writer knows the veteran; the submission should also include a photo. All submissions are due by July 1, 2019, to ereiss@consultwebs-email.com. Find out more information at this website.
